Resort, they seem to have an overall positive reputation in the industry. Do your own research, but remember that most companies have some disgruntled customer claiming a scam, even though it may not be true.
When your carefully laid out travel plans are in tatters because something disastrous happens, the experience can be terrifying. World Nomads wants people to submit their stories, from disaster to triumph, in its Terrifying Travel Tales contest.

"We're looking for terrifying tales, but we also want to know how things might have gone differently, how that person reacted and what advice they would give to other travelers about how to avoid or survive a similar situation" said Christopher Noble, World Nomads' general manager. "Our aim is to find the one story that inspires with travel triumph over adversity and give that person a chance to experience a new and amazing travel experience... on us."

Noble added that experiences might include, among others, being scammed out of cash, falling from a tuk-tuk or eating an adventurous path right to the hospital. "We want to give the best storyteller the chance to overcome their terrifying travel tale by making a fresh start - on a new adventure," he said.

Grand prize options include joining a tribe in Vorovoro, Fiji, discovering Asia Minor on Turkey Trails, exploring remote regions in Lasaos and Cambodia, or studing Spanish and the Argentinean Tango in Buenos Aires.
