Hotel Arabia show

Hotel Arabia show

The last edition in 2009 showcased products and services of 280 companies from 23 countries and attracted in excess of 15,000 trade visitors.

Getting stronger year after year, the 2010 event will host international groups in the packaging sector from Europe, China, Egypt and Taiwan supported by the equally large local Saudi processing and packaging industry.

Food and Hotel Arabia will see the presence of Turkey, China, UAE, Thailand, Egypt, Europe and USA and leading names from the Saudi food industry.

The special feature of Top Chef and Art de Table will continue its successful staging organized by the Saudi Chef Association with each evening having a cooking demonstration and cuisine from different countries adjudicated by a panel of international judges. Garnishing and food display will be part of this activity as well.

Leading hotels and restaurants will be participating in the Art de Table contest exhibiting the fine art of table display.

The exhibition in its 16th successful series, organized by Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions is open to trade and business visitors 5-10 pm daily.

Saudi Arabia is a $10bn import market for food and agricultural products. Saudi imports of consumer-oriented products are growing approximately 6% annually and are now estimated at $5bn. In December 2005, Saudi Arabia became a member of the WTO; it agreed to ease trade restrictions and improve trade and investment opportunities in an effort to diversify its economy.

The Saudi government has set the task of achieving near self-sufficiency in food; a big challenge as Saudi Arabia is one of the world's most arid countries. Limited agricultural production will lead to continuing and increasing imports in the future. In value terms, Saudi Arabia is the world's 19th largest agri-food importer.

Saudi Arabia's agri-food imports averaged at $10bn annually for the last 4 years. Almost 80% of Saudi Arabia's food needs are imported. The top four products accounted for 40% of total imports. Top Saudi Agri-food imports are barley, sheep, rice and chicken, top suppliers being Brazil, India, Ukraine and Australia.
Agies... you got it in one. From my (albeit limited) experience working in banquets, what with licensing and liability concerns, if someone wants to take food away from your restaurant/banquet floor, you make 'em sign something like above. Sure, it doesn't speak too highly towards the shelf-life of said food, but then again, if you get ill from your poorly-preserved leftovers, no lawsuit for you!

quesadilla. There is also the dessert version of grilled cheese, using peanut butter and chocolate chips.
Use the iron as a skillet/grill. Wrap chicken, fish, vegetables, etc. in foil, place the foil-wrapped food on the ironing board, and put the iron, on the highest setting, over the top. Just make sure the foil is sealed so that juices don't come out and ruin the iron or the surface you're cooking on. The more cooking that the food requires, the less room there is for error, so try to stick with food that only needs searing, such as scallops.

Use the coffee maker as a vegetable steamer. Place carrots, broccoli, etc. in the filter basket of the coffee maker. Run water through the coffee maker several time to achieve desired tenderness

Make instant rice in the coffee maker. Run the appropriate amount of water, per the instructions on the rice package, through the coffee maker and then add the rice to the coffee pot. Leave the burner on until the rice has thoroughly cooked and absorbed most of the water.

Make sauce in the coffee maker. Sauces and fondues can be made by running water through the coffee maker and adding the heated water to a sauce mix. You should not run anything other than water through the coffee maker. These machines are made to heat water only, and the water comes into direct contact with the heating element. Sauces will burn onto the heating element, ruining the coffee maker.

Make "Lemon Pepper Chicken" in the coffee maker. Place chicken breast in coffee maker. Add enough water to cover about 1/4 of chicken. Sprinkle with lemon pepper seasoning. Turn on maker and cook about 15 min per side. Add milk and butter to remaining liquid, allow to heat for about a minute, and add potato flakes for a quick side of mashed potatoes.

Make oatmeal in the coffee maker. Put two packets of instant oatmeal into the carafe. Add an individual packet of honey, an individual packet of fruit jam, and a pinch of salt. Put an herbal tea bag (e.g. orange flavored) into the filter basket. Pour 8-10 ounces of water into the coffee maker, turn on the machine, and the oatmeal will be ready in about 5 minutes.[1]

Cook bacon with the iron. Cut bacon strips in half and place them between two foil sheets. Crimp the edges of the foil sheets together to prevent grease from spilling out. Iron the bacon, opening the packet carefully with a fork every few minutes to check to see if the bacon is done and to let out the steam. It'll take about 10 minutes to get slightly crisp bacon.
Lots of travelers, particularly those on business, find themselves stuck in hotels for weeks or months on end. The novelty of eating every meal at a restaurant soon wears off, and the traveler craves nothing more than the taste of a home-cooked meal. However, in-room resources at many hotels appear to be incapable of facilitating cooking. This can be resolved through several innovative ways, but in which you should first practice at home, and in which you're really supposed to ask the hotel permission if you can do (to which they'll probably say no).

Plan ahead, and bring along some small appliances that facilitate hotel room cooking, and you'll have better results than trying to grill a fish in the coffee maker. See [1] for some suggestions on appliances.

Restaurant & Bar

Restaurant & Bar

Years ago there were a few number of restaurants each having its own particular taste and atmosphere. A few among them included a small bar as a portion of their restaurant. Later on the business of restaurants increased and now we can see restaurants working in the form of chains. Number of restaurants having bars in them also increased with this trend and today we find that almost every restaurant has a bar within its premises. Just similar to the competition in food preparing, bar are also a part of this contest.

Restaurant bar stools are one important part of such bars. There are several kinds of bar stools available each kind having its own characteristics as per their making. One can get a bar stool in almost every colour, every size and every design, all depends upon your restaurant theme. There is no need to mention that how important it is for your stools to be in accordance to the theme of your interior. Of course you will have to go through several tricky situations to manage the theme but there is one solution related to bar stools which can make your free from this problem.

A year ago I met Richard Coles, the erstwhile Communard turned broadcaster who moonlights as a curate, and the talk turned to the effects of the recession on the collection plate. He must, I said, have noticed quite a downturn. Not really, he said – if anything, it's slightly up. Blimey, I said, how cheering to find people's charitable instincts heightened by hardship rather than flattened. Where's your church? "Knightsbridge," he said.

"Wish I was in Lyon, eating proper food." My weeny merguez, resting flaccidly on couscous, franked the inoffensiveness form, while another, fatter nine quid banger, "the Beaujolaise" – an amalgam of pork, mushroom, onion and bacon – seemed less a sausage than a loose coalition struggling to coexist amicably under the one skin. A request that a green salad be more than a few frisée leaves was technically granted, in that some rocket was lobbed in, but the requested cucumber and celery were denied us.
This simple solution is that you just choose black colour along with any design and material for your restaurant bar stools. It fits best with any colour scheme however if the colour of your theme is either white or light brown then it will work best. You can not only use this in your restaurant but also in your home or specially in your kitchen.

Spinach and egg fettuccini ($19; above left) came piled with roasted duck and skin cracklings, pine nuts, spinach, Brussels sprouts, and pancetta. Gnocchi ($18; above right) might be the lightest in town, as they’re made from celery root rather than potatoes, and served with lamb, Italian sausage, mushrooms, smoked tomatoes, and sage, in a creamy parmesan sauce.
It is not often that you find so many ingredients in a pasta dish, and yet find that all of them make a distinct impression. These are among the best pastas we’ve had all year. he Beef Long Rib ($28; above left) should be on many more menus. It is basically a whole short rib on the bone in a red wine-cranberry braise, with corn pudding and a terrific sautéed broccoli rabe. It takes guts to serve Miso Glazed Black Sea Bass ($26; above right) on a cuttlefish ink lemon risotto, but these chefs pulled it off.
The wine list has 30 bottles priced between $30 and $50, although the top end goes up to $300. I am not sure who will be spending that kind of money on this food, but it never hurts to have the option. Wine choices by the glass are ample, with a dozen reds and a dozen whites. There are 25 beers and also a very good sangria.

The space seats 60, including a small lounge up-front and a 12-seat communal table near the open kitchen at the back. The exposed brick walls are decorated with wine bottles and knick-nacks. We weren’t there as civilians, but service seemed to be attentive at all of the other tables I could see.
